Cultures crossed in the mid-1990s when NASCAR held a series of races in Japan over a three-year stretch.

Rusty Wallace, Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhardt, Dale Jarrett and others made the 7,000-mile trip across the Pacific Ocean to compete in NASCAR’s first major international race, an unprecedented event in competing against the best racers in Japan.

The setting? Japan’s world famous Suzuka Circuit.

“Made in Japan” explores all of the above, and more — the effort to launch the first race in 1996, the lasting impact on Japan, if NASCAR will ever return — in an all-access, behind-the-scenes documentary airing as part of “Race Hub” on FS1.
