Everything to know about Oregon’s Willamette Speedway

Willamette Speedway was established in 1966 by Clair and Evelyn Arnold, who envisioned bringing dirt track racing to Lebanon, Oregon. 

Their dream materialized into a high-banked, third-mile clay oval track that quickly became a central hub for motorsports enthusiasts in the Pacific Northwest.

In the early 2000s, brothers Jimmy and Jerry Schram took ownership of Willamette Speedway. They didn't just maintain the facility — they completely reconfigured and rebuilt it, transforming it into one of the premier dirt tracks on the West Coast.

Under their leadership, the Schram brothers enhanced the track's infrastructure, improved safety measures, and expanded the racing schedule.

In 2022, Jimmy and Jerry Schram sold Willamette Speedway to Cory and Sandy Penfold. Cory, who had dreamed of owning the track since he was 12 years old, and Sandy brought renewed energy and vision to the speedway.

The track is part of the NASCAR Local Racing Series Powered by O'Reilly Auto Parts. Racing begins in April and continues through the end of September each season.

Super Late Models are the headlining class at Willamette Speedway. Other divisions include Limited Late Models, Modifieds, Street Stocks and Compacts.
