Tyler Reddick took two tires on a caution with 30 laps to go, rocketing up four spots on the final restart to win Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series Chase race at Phoenix Raceway.
The win is Reddick’s series-leading sixth of the 2026 season, but his first since the ninth race of the campaign at Kansas Speedway. It marks a key highlight in a roller coaster summer and fall that keeps the No. 45 23XI Racing driver just 56 points out of the series lead with three Chase presented by Mobil 1 races remaining.

Ryan Blaney finished second, followed by Chase Elliott, Christopher Bell and two-time 2026 winner Corey Heim. Joey Logano, Daniel Suárez, Chase Briscoe, Ross Chastain and Ty Gibbs rounded out the top 10.
The remaining Chase drivers finished as follows: Carson Hocevar 12th, Bubba Wallace 17th, Ryan Preece 18th, Austin Cindric 19th, William Byron 21st, Chris Buescher 22nd, Denny Hamlin 28th and Kyle Larson 34th.
Unofficially, Larson leads Bell by five points in the series standings. Briscoe trails by 24, followed by Hamlin at 31 back, Blaney 40 back and Logano 44, with Reddick now seventh and in striking distance.

During pit stops under the Stage 2 break, Logano won the race off pit road – but Team Penske mate Blaney had a setback. He lost nine spots after a hang-up on the left rear, dropping from sixth to 15th. Notably, Hamlin gained three spots, lurching into the top five.
Logano held onto the lead at the Lap 194 restart, with Wallace filing behind him in second.
At Lap 221, Hamlin suffered a flat right-rear tire while running fourth, and nursed his No. 11 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota to pit road. He lost a lap during the emergency service, returning to the track as the first car one lap down. Moments later, Cody Ware crashed with a tire issue of his own, bringing out a caution.

However, Hamlin sped on pit road, which negated a free pass under the yellow, and forced him to the rear of the field for the restart, still running a lap off the pace.
The leaders came down pit road under yellow, and Logano dropped two spots – losing his lead to Wallace, who was first off in his No. 23 23XI Racing Toyota.
Wallace fired to the lead at the Lap 230 restart, pacing a string of Toyotas. Logano fell three more spots from third to sixth under green, reporting to crew chief Paul Wolde that he may have an alternator issue.
Still struggling midpack, Larson pitted with 50 laps to go, beginning the pit cycle. Logano and Blaney came four laps later, with leader Wallace pitting shortly after and handing the lead over to Briscoe.

With 40 to go, Briscoe finally made his stop, and second-place running Bell followed him down.
Because those two pitted toward the end of the cycle, they were mired back in traffic – but with a tire advantage. Wallace retook the lead at Lap 275, leading 23XI teammate Reddick.
As the pit cycle ended, Ty Dillon and John Hunter Nemechek each suffered separate tire issues, but both returned to pit road without causing a caution.
With 30 laps to go, complete disaster struck for Larson. He suffered a tire issue, pounding the wall in Turns 1 and 2 and suffering heavy damage. Larson limped the No. 5 down to pit road, eventually heading behind the wall for a premature end to his race.
Under the yellow, Briscoe, Elliott and Gibbs stayed out. Reddick, Logano and Blaney took two tires, while Wallace took four and was the sixth car to exit pit road.
However, Wallace was too fast entering, forcing him to the rear for the restart.
Reddick gained four spots on the ensuing restart, using his two fresh tires to his advantage to return to Victory Lane.

Logano held serve after pit stops during the Stage 1 break, restarting from the top spot after taking right-side tires.
But that advantage didn’t last long as Bell snuck past the three-time champion in Turn 2 to take his first lead of the afternoon on Lap 69.
Bell jolted ahead to a multi-second advantage, but as the stint progressed and tires began to wear out, Logano reeled the No. 20 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota. Bell darted for pit road on Lap 123, taking four fresh Goodyear tires and fuel and handing the lead to Logano.
Hamlin pitted moments later from just outside the top 10, executing a clean four-tire stop after a hang-up on the left-rear last time down.

Midway through service, Brad Keselowski spun entering pit road, nudging the rear of Connor Zilisch’s No. 88 Trackhouse Racing Chevrolet. The race stayed green.
Blaney pitted on Lap 127, along with Larson — who continued plummeting through the field. Logano surrendered the lead for service a lap later, and Bell cycled back to the lead with the No. 22 Team Penske Ford seven seconds behind him – but with a tire advantage.
Larson, who entered Sunday’s race with the series lead, cycled to 27th, a lap down and multiple spots behind the free-pass position.
On Lap 157, Austin Dillon suffered a flat tire entering Turn 3, bringing out the second caution for incident of the afternoon.
The leaders came down pit road for service, with most drivers electing to take four tires. Logano eked past Bell as the first car off, setting him up for the lead on the restart.
Because all lead-lap cars pitted, that allowed for Larson to take the wave around and return to the lead lap — a key development for the No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet near the race’s midpoint.
Logano held serve on the restart as Briscoe jumped into second, the highest the No. 19 driver has run in his quest for three straight wins.
With 15 laps left in the stage, John Hunter Nemechek suffered a tire issue, but nursed his No. 42 Legacy Motor Club Toyota to pit road, and the race stayed green the rest of the frame.
Stage 1 recap: Logano wins opening frame
Joey Logano won Stage 1 of Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series Chase race at Phoenix Raceway, leading the final nine laps of the opening frame in the desert. It’s the seventh of 10 postseason events in The Chase presented by Mobil 1.
Denny Hamlin finished second by a hair over Christopher Bell, followed by Ryan Blaney and Chase Briscoe. William Byron, Chase Elliott, Ross Chastain, Tyler Reddick and Josh Berry rounded out the top 10 and points earners.

Blaney, the polesitter, jumped out to the lead on the initial start and paced the first 44 laps until the first caution of the afternoon. Michael McDowell and Riley Herbst crashed in Turn 4 while battling for 20th, Herbst contacting the No. 71 Chevrolet from behind after close-quarters racing down the backstretch.
That resulted in the first batch of pit stops. Hamlin, Byron and Elliott each took two tires and were the first three drivers off pit road. Larson, who started 22nd and gained only a minuscule position during the first stint, also took two and lined up fifth. Blaney had a slow four-tire stop and dropped to eighth in the running order.
But it was Logano, who elected for four tires, who passed Hamlin on Lap 51 to win the stage. Larson struggled on two tires and plummeted back to 22nd, where he started the 312-lap event and did not earn points.
