Goodyear will provide established tire setups for all three national series as The Chase presented by Mobil 1 rolls into Talladega Superspeedway this weekend.

The three series will carry over the same superspeedway tire compounds from similar drafting-style tracks Daytona International Speedway and EchoPark Speedway.

The NASCAR Cup Series will ride on the same left- and right-side rubber used since the spring of 2025 at the 2.66-mile superspeedway — NASCAR’s longest oval. There is a wrinkle in the aero package for Sunday’s YellaWood 500 (2 p.m. ET, NBC, HBO Max, MRN Radio, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio), though, as NASCAR reduced the Next Gen spoiler to 3.5 inches (from the four-inch update at Daytona summer race) and tweaked the stages to match the spring race at Talladega (98-45-45). Cup Series cars previously ran seven-inch spoilers, most recently used at EchoPark in July.

“Talladega doesn’t typically wear tires, so our setups here are designed to give teams different strategy options,” said Justin Fantozzi, Goodyear’s Director of Racing for the Americas. “Teams typically alternate between four-tire, two-tire and fuel-only stops, and these Goodyear Racing Eagles allow for those choices. All three series know these tire setups well and we’ve been happy with their performance so far.”

The O’Reilly Auto Parts Series will take part in Saturday’s The Progress Group 250 (3:30 p.m. ET, The CW, ESPN Unlimited, MRN Radio, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio) with the same Talladega tire setup from the spring. The Craftsman Truck Series will compete in Friday’s Love’s RV Stop 225 (4 p.m. ET, FS1, FOX One, NASCAR Racing Network Radio, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio), riding on a Goodyear combination used one other time this year at the Daytona season opener in February.

Tire allotments for each team competing this weekend:

  • Cup Series: 7 total sets – 6 new sets for the race, 1 for qualifying, which transfers to the race.
  • O’Reilly Auto Parts Series: 4 total sets – 3 new sets for the race, 1 for qualifying, which transfers to the race.
  • Craftsman Truck Series: 4 total sets – 3 new sets for the race, 1 for qualifying, which transfers to the race.
