Tricon Garage announced a pair of contract extensions Wednesday, revealing that Kaden Honeycutt and Gio Ruggiero will return to the organization for the 2027 FedEx Freight Truck Series season.

Honeycutt, the current Truck Series points leader, is slated for his second season in the No. 11 Toyota Tundra, while Ruggiero will return to the No. 17 for the third consecutive year.

A Texas native, Honeycutt joined Tricon ahead of the 2026 season following a full 2025 campaign split amongst three organizations. His final eight races of that season came in Halmar-Friesen Racing’s No. 52 entry, navigating the truck to the Championship 4 in place of the injured Stewart Friesen.

Through 22 races this season, Honeycutt has four wins, including a victory in the series’ most recent race at Phoenix Raceway. His first career victory came in May at Watkins Glen International – just hours after winning his first ARCA Menards Series race at the New York road course. Honeycutt leads the series with 14 top fives, 17 top 10s and a 7.8 average finish. With three races remaining in The Chase presented by Mobil 1, Honeycutt owns a 39-point advantage over Layne Riggs heading to Talladega Superspeedway on Friday (4 p.m. ET, FS1, FOX One, NASCAR Racing Network Radio, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio).

The 23-year-old ran part-time national series slates from 2022-24 while primarily focused on late model racing, earning the 2024 CARS Tour Pro Late Model championship.

Ruggiero embarked on his first Truck Series season in 2025, joining Tricon after running the full 2024 ARCA Menards Series East schedule. He missed the postseason as a rookie, but scored his first win that fall at Talladega. Through sustained consistency in 2026, Ruggiero qualified for The Chase, earning the No. 5 seed. The Massachusetts native has 11 top 10s through 22 races, sitting seventh in points at 151 markers behind Honeycutt.

Honeycutt is currently paired with veteran shot caller Scott Zipadelli while Ruggiero works with Jeff Stankiewicz, but no additional information about 2027 driver/crew-chief pairings was disclosed.
