Bio
Erik Jones is in his eighth full season in the NASCAR Cup Series and fourth driving the iconic No. 43 for Legacy Motor Club. He won the 2022 Southern 500 for the team's first victory, the organization then known as Petty GMS Motorsports. To kick off his 2020 season, Jones won the Busch Clash at Daytona International Speedway. Jones also won the 2019 Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway. Driving for Joe Gibbs Racing, Jones scored his first Cup win when he narrowly prevailed over Martin Truex Jr. at Daytona in July 2018. Jones earned successive Sunoco Rookie of the Year honors in all three NASCAR national divisions -- 2017 in the Cup Series, 2016 in the Xfinity Series and 2015 in the Craftsman Truck Series.
