Bio
Busch was racing full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series for Richard Childress Racing when he passed away suddenly on May 21, 2026, following a severe illness. Busch was the 2015 and 2019 Cup Series champion for Joe Gibbs Racing and made the Championship 4 from 2015-19. Busch's 63 Cup wins were the most among active drivers at the time of his passing, with his most recent triumph coming in 2023 at World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway. He ranks ninth on the all-time wins list. Busch is the all-time record-holder for wins in both the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series (102) and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series (69). He is also the 2009 O'Reilly Auto Parts Series champion. Busch compiled 234 victories among all three NASCAR national series.
