Bio
Sam Mayer pilots the No. 1 Chevrolet for JR Motorsports full-time. Mayer is a seven-time winner in the Xfinity Series. He found Victory Lane for the first time in the Xfinity Series at Road America in July 2023 and earned his second and third career wins in the following months at Watkins Glen International and the Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval. He then followed those up with his fourth career win at Homestead-Miami Speedway in October. One of his most memorable wins came in 2024 at Texas Motor Speedway as the second closet finish in Xfinity Series history, beating Ryan Sieg by just 0.002 seconds at the line. He scored his first career NASCAR victory in 2020, winning the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway. He was just 17 years old at the time -- NASCAR's second-youngest winner.
