Ty Gibbs is in his fourth full-time NASCAR Cup Series season as driver of the No. 54 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota. He won his first career Cup Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway in April 2026, coming in his 131st career race. Grandson of team owner Joe Gibbs, Ty Gibbs surged onto the NASCAR scene in 2021, winning at the Daytona International Speedway road course in his first career start in the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series. Gibbs moved to full-time racing in O'Reilly in 2022, winning the championship in his first season. Gibbs also ran the second half of the Cup Series schedule for 23XI Racing that season, filling in for the injured Kurt Busch. In 2023, Ty Gibbs captured Rookie of the Year honors during his first full time Cup Series season. Gibbs claimed the 2021 ARCA Menards Series championship thanks to 10 wins and 19 top fives in 20 starts that year.
