10 deep stats for Richmond playoff race: Who do the numbers favor?

The second race in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs Round of 16 is almost here. Get ready with 10 stats you need to know for Saturday night's Federated Auto Parts 400 at Richmond Raceway (7:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN/NBC Sports App, MRN, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio).

Kevin Harvick (109 points), Joey Logano (99 pts.), Ryan Blaney (80 pts.), William Byron (74 pts.) and Chase Elliott (67 pts.) are among the five drivers who have earned the most points over the past two races at Indianapolis and Las Vegas.

Martin Truex Jr.'s win at Las Vegas served as his seventh playoff victory since 2016, leading the list ahead of Kyle Busch (five), Kevin Harvick (four) and Joey Logano (four).

In four short-track races this season, there have been four different winners, four different pole winners and four different drivers who have finished second. Martin Truex Jr. won at Richmond in the spring, Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin took victories at both Bristol races and Brad Keselowski won at Martinsville.

Kyle Busch holds the best average finish in the four short-track races in 2019 at 4.0, tied with Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Denny Hamlin. Clint Bowyer, currently 21 points below the cutline, is third best with a sixth-place average finish. Busch also holds the most short-track victories among active drivers with 16.

Chevrolet is currently riding an 11-race winless streak on short tracks dating back to Kyle Larson's win at Richmond in September 2017.

Only three drivers have finished in the top 10 in all four short-track races so far in 2019 -- Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin and Clint Bowyer.

The nighttime is the right time for Chase Elliott, who has scored top-five finishes in three of the last five races under the lights.

Brad Keselowski has led the most laps on short tracks this season with 608 laps led. That is more than double that of Martin Truex Jr.'s total (238 laps led) which is good for second on the list. Joey Logano ranks third with 203 laps led, followed by Kyle Busch (202), Ryan Blaney (158) and Chase Elliott (120).

If a Joe Gibbs Racing driver can win at Richmond on Saturday night, the organization will break a tie with Petty Enterprises for most all-time wins at Richmond. Currently, the two organizations are tied at 15 wins apiece.

While Hendrick Motorsports leads the all-time short-track wins list by active teams with 50 victories, the last win by the organization at Richmond was September 2008. The have won 83 times at 21 other tracks since the last victory, including six runner-up finishes at the 0.75-mile Virginia oval.
