All-time NASCAR Cup Series Regular Season Champions

William Byron officially clinched the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series Regular Season Championship on Saturday at Richmond Raceway -- a week early. Along with hardware and bragging rights, the Hendrick Motorsports driver earns 15 additional playoff points to carry over with him. 2017: Martin Truex Jr.

Regular-season stats: 1,033 points, 4 wins, 10 top fives, 17 top 10s
Playoffs: Won the 2017 championship.

2018: Kyle Busch

Regular-season stats: 1,073 points, 6 wins, 17 top fives, 21 top 10s
Playoffs: Advanced to the Championship 4, but finished fourth in the title race and the season standings.

2019: Kyle Busch

Regular-season stats: 988 points, 4 wins, 13 top fives, 21 top 10s
Playoffs: Won the 2019 championship.

2020: Kevin Harvick

Regular-season stats: 1,058 points, 7 wins, 17 top fives, 21 top 10s
Playoffs: Was eliminated in the Round of 8 and finished fifth in the season standings.

2021: Kyle Larson
