Best of 2023: Images from NASCAR Studios

With the 75th NASCAR season in the books, it's time to take a look back at all the great moments from 2023.

In his very first laps inside the Next Gen car, famed wheelman Travis Pastrana qualified the No. 67 23XI Racing Toyota on speed for the Daytona 500. Pastrana went on to finish 11th in the "Great American Race." 

Before the Martinsville wall was freshened up ahead of the spring race from this year, Ross Chastain got to reflect and commemorate his iconic "Hail Melon" move that took him to the Championship 4 in 2022. 

For the final time, NASCAR ran on the Tennessee clay at Bristol on Easter weekend. Here's a detailed look at the dirt the Truck and Cup Series ran on the last three seasons. 

One of the most thrilling finishes of the season happened in the Truck Series at Kansas as Christian Eckes (top), Zane Smith (middle) and Corey Heim battled for the win. 

The trio ran three-wide when the white flag was taken. 

NASCAR Studio's Zack Albert used a vintage camera during Darlington throwback weekend, capturing the retro vibes at the track.

For the first time since 1996, NASCAR returned to North Wilkesboro Speedway with the Truck Series and the All-Star Race.

Victory Lane photos are always a great sight, and look even better with one of the coolest trophies in sports as Carson Hocevar celebrates a Nashville Truck win with a Les Paul guitar. 

Few things are more appealing to the eye than racing during the golden hour at Nashville. 

A highlight for the history books in NASCAR's lore was debuting on the downtown Chicago streets on Fourth of July weekend. To top it all of, the Cup race was won by debutant Shane van Gisbergen.

The 2.2-mile Chicago course was tough to navigate for drivers with narrow straights and tight corners. 

No one enjoys weather delays, but who can deny the beauty of a double rainbow as it arcs over Richmond Raceway? 

Martin Truex Jr. looks on after finishing second at Michigan following a hard-fought battle with Chris Buescher for the checkered flag. 

Kevin Harvick completed his final full-time Cup season in 2023, and this shot of his No. 4 Ford underneath the glory of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Pagoda brings all the feels. 

With the high speeds at Watkins Glen International, it can be tough to make it cleanly through the bus stop on the backstretch. Sometimes, you can get a little dirty like Corey LaJoie here...

Just one week after his harrowing crash at Daytona, Ryan Preece returned to the track at Darlington, showing the swelling and bruising of his eyes. 

Day-to-night transitions in the Southern 500 go together like bread and butter. 

NASCAR returned to Kansas during the postseason and was greeted with the organization's colors lighting up the Kansas City Union Station. 

The multiple grooves at Kansas allows drivers to use the entire width of the track to gain track position. Take a look at how close Larson gets to the wall here as he makes his way around the 1.5-mile oval. 

Bubba Wallace gave the "shush" gesture after pointing his way into the Round of 12 of the Cup Series Playoffs at Bristol Motor Speedway. 

Rick Hendrick brought the drip to Victory Lane at Texas as he celebrated with William Byron and his patented big hat headgear that the No. 24 driver rocked six times in 2023. 

Sam Mayer had a breakout season in 2023, winning four races to reach the Championship 4 in the Xfinity Series. After scoring a walk-off win at the Charlotte Roval, he celebrated in style.

Riley Herbst waited a few years for his maiden NASCAR win but he did it in sweet fashion as he dominated the Xfinity playoff race at his home track of Las Vegas Motor Speedway. 

Dale Earnhardt Jr. returned to action for two Xfinity races in 2023. He nearly won at Bristol before a mechanical failure, and scored a top-five finish at Homestead.

There's nothing like a soldout grandstand at Martinsville Speedway. 

Ryan Blaney secured his spot in the Championship 4 after winning the Cup Series playoff race at Martinsville. 

Grant Enfinger was a lap away from the Truck Series crown before of slew of cautions jumbled the field, opening the door for Ben Rhodes to take his second title while Enfinger came up short. 

"Stone Cole" Custer celebrates his Xfinity Series championship with the ice-cold taste of two beers; echoing the famed WWE wrestler Steve Austin. 

More from Custer's title celebration as the champagne shower was in full effect in the Arizona desert. 

Who would've thought R2-D2 would show up at the track? Well, that's what happened as both 23XI drivers Bubba Wallace and Tyler Reddick rocked Star Wars-themed paint schemes and firesuits for the Cup finale at Phoenix. 

A detailed look at the original 1948 Cup trophy as the diamond anniversary of NASCAR came to a close at Phoenix.
