Brad Keselowski 2019 season in review

Brad Keselowski drove the No. 2 Ford for Team Penske to eighth place in the final Cup Series standings. Now completing a decade of full seasons at NASCAR’s top level, take a look at some of the highlights from Keselowski’s 2019 stint.

A trio of wins, 13 top fives and 19 top 10s was the outcome of a solid campaign for Keselowski -- only trailing each of the Championship 4 in the win column. He also started on the Busch Pole three times, his most since 2015.

Keslowski spent many races at the front of the pack, leading over 1,000 laps for the third time in his career. His 10.6 percentage of laps led was only bested by Martin Truex Jr. (13.4) and Kyle Busch (15.4).

In just the second race of the season, Keselowski worked his way through the field to take home the checkered flag at Atlanta Motor Speedway after starting 19th. His second career win at the track locked the Team Penske driver into the NASCAR Playoffs, which he has made every year under the current format.

His winning ways continued just four weeks later at Martinsville, leading a dominant 446 of 500 laps in the spring race. The impressive total places Keselowski sixth all-time and second among active drivers (Martin Truex Jr. - 464).

Perhaps his most thrilling finish of the year came at Kansas in May, after a late caution sent the race into overtime. Keselowski outpaced Alex Bowman in the two-lap shootout, dedicating his emotional 30th Cup Series win to former Gander Outdoors truck owner, Mike Mittler.

Entering the playoffs slotted fourth, Keselowski advanced to the Round of 12 after top-five finishes at Las Vegas, Richmond and the Roval.

After being involved in the playoff crash at Talladega, Keselowski needed a solid finish at Kansas to advance to the next round. Restarting 13th in a second overtime, slight contact with the wall caused him to lose six spots and ended his quest for a second series title.
