Clint Bowyer 2020 season in review

Clint Bowyer closed out his NASCAR Cup Series driving career with a 12th-place finish in the 2020 standings. Bowyer will trade in his steering wheel for a microphone in 2021 as he will join FOX Sports.

Bowyer made the NASCAR Playoffs for the third consecutive year and ninth overall. The 2020 season marked Bowyer's fourth with Stewart-Haas Racing.

Bowyer was one of four drivers this season who won a pole in the four races where qualifying was contested. Bowyer topped the session in the third race of the season at Auto Club Speedway for his fourth career pole.

Bowyer began the playoffs as the 13th seed and scored three consecutive top 10s in the opening round. He was eliminated in the Round of 12 after finishes of 12th (Las Vegas Motor Speedway), 33rd (Talladega Superspeedway) and 10th (Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval).

Bowyer posted two top-five and 12 top-10 finishes in 2020 with his best result -- second place -- coming at Bristol Motor Speedway in May.

Bowyer, who went winless for the second consecutive season, competed full time in the Cup Series for 15 years. He scored his 226th and final top 10 of his career in the second-to-last race of the season at Martinsville Speedway, a track he recorded one of his 10 career wins at in 2018.

Bowyer: "I have had a lot of people help me in my career and certainly wouldn’t be here without them. I don’t know if this has sunk in yet, but I think this will all hit me when we get to Daytona (International Speedway) next season."
