After capturing another Cup Series championship with his second driver, Paul Wolfe joined a very short list of premier series commanders to accomplish the incredible feat. Wolfe now has a pair of championships on his résumé, placing him among a group of legendary crew chiefs.

Bud Moore

Moore did a little bit of everything in his distinguished career — he was a mechanic, a crew chief and ultimately a team owner. He won back-to-back championships with Joe Weatherly in 1962-63, which followed his 1957 title with Buck Baker.

Tim Brewer

Brewer crew chiefed an incredible 708 races over a 30-year period, amassing 53 wins. He was crew chief for Cale Yarborough during the 1976 title run (and split time as crew chief in 1978), and later won a title with Darrell Waltrip in 1981 after a 12-win season.

Carter's first championship came with Benny Parsons (1973) in his first year as a crew chief. He also earned the 1978 title with driver Cale Yarborough. He split crew chief duties with Tim Brewer that year.

1956: Carl Kiekhaefer was NASCAR's most prolific team owner, with their first multi-car team. His Chrysler Corp. cars were piloted by many different top-flight drivers. But his domination gained such negative publicity that he pulled out of the sport. (Photo by ISC Archives/CQ-Roll Call Group via Getty Images)

Carl Kiekhaefer

Although he was known more as a prolific team owner than crew chief, Kiekhaefer has a record few can top. He was crew chief for just two full-time seasons, and he won titles in both with drivers Tim Flock (1955) and Buck Baker (1956).

Paul Wolfe

Wolfe won the championship with Brad Keselowski in just his second year atop the pit box, capping off a magical run during 2012. One decade later, with the same organization, Wolfe doubled up on his success with Joey Logano in their third season together by dominating the season finale at Phoenix Raceway.
