Notable: U.S. President Ronald Reagan attends the annual Firecracker 400, gives a memorable command and then watches as Petty wins his 200th (and last) NASCAR Cup Series race. It was one of the most historic afternoons in NASCAR history.

Notable: This track -- casually referred to as Malta, given it is located in Malta, New York -- hosted just two NASCAR Cup Series races. This was the second, with Petty leading 181 of 250 laps on the .362-mile track.

Notable: This was the final of five consecutive wins for Allison in 1971, and it marked the only NASCAR Cup Series race ever run at the half-mile paved track in Houston.
