Joey Logano 2020 season in review

Joey Logano finished third in the NASCAR Cup Series standings after capturing three wins. The 2018 champion has now made four appearances in the Championship 4 dating back to 2014 when the elimination format began.

Logano made an early trip to Victory Lane when he won the first Bluegreen Vacations Duel at Daytona International Speedway to score the third starting spot for Daytona 500.

Logano led the series with a 9.0 average running position across the 36 points-paying races. He also completed 85.5 percent of laps while running in the top 15, which ranked second to champion Chase Elliott.

The 2020 season marked Logano's first with crew chief Paul Wolfe, who previously led the No. 2 Penske team and driver Brad Keselowski from 2011-19.

Logano entered the postseason as the fourth seed with 22 playoff points. Six of Logano's seven stage wins came in the regular season with two coming in race No. 26 at Daytona International Speedway.

Logano finished in the top 10 in the final five races of the season, including a win at Kansas Speedway to lock him into the Championship 4.

Logano: "As a new driver-crew chief pairing with the team -- going through what the COVID protocols are and not being able to be around each other and not having practice maybe being the most challenging piece -- to see where we've come from there's a lot to be proud of, so we look at the positives. I'm always a silver lining person. ... I will say we've grown a lot and it makes me really excited for 2021."
