The next-generation stock car for the NASCAR Cup Series is scheduled for its competition debut in 2021. On Dec. 9-10, the prototype underwent its second on-track test with a visit to ISM Raceway near Phoenix, where Joey Logano took the wheel.

The Next Gen car featured a smaller rear spoiler for the second day of testing on the 1-mile track. Logano said that team personnel and NASCAR officials tried a variety of aero packages, tire combinations and other setups in the two-day test.
