Sure, Martinsville Speedway is shaped like a paperclip, but in our increasingly digital world, few people use paper, and subsequently, paperclips. It's time to update this nickname to a more modern item, and in the following slides, we'll provide some options.

This one has lots of potential. "Welcome to the famous 'Baguette' here in Martinsville, Virginia, where today's race promises to have 'loaves' of excitement …" (Makes room on that mantel for the sports Emmy.)

The shape is perfect. Look what a good boy this potential nickname would be.

The track is known for its hot dogs, but it more resembles this breaded-wiener masterpiece. Saying "500 laps around the Corn Dog" is like audio velvet.

As one of the more historic tracks on the circuit, we acknowledge its shape as well as its age.

Because it's not quite the size of one capsule, but rather two. Sure, "The Capsule" could work but that would be pharmaceutically inaccurate.

A legendary character for a legendary track.

It's shaped just like the German sausage. Can see no issue with calling this great place "The Wurst track" and they probably wouldn't either.
