Matt DiBenedetto 2020 season in review

Matt DiBenedetto made the NASCAR Playoffs for the first time in his career in his first season driving the famed No. 21 Ford for Wood Brothers Racing.

DiBenedetto finished 13th in the standings, eclipsing his previous best mark of 22nd when he drove for Leavine Family Racing in 2019.

A 12th-place finish in the regular-season finale at Daytona International Speedway put DiBenedetto in the postseason by six points.

DiBenedetto came close to scoring his first career win and the 100th for the Wood Brothers in both races at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, finishing second each time.

The season ended strong for the No. 21 team with DiBenedetto, who recorded three straight top-10 finishes to close out the year. His final tally of 11 top 10s is a career best.

"Three straight top 10s shows how strong this team is,” DiBenedetto said. “It was a good way to end the year."

On Oct. 8, Wood Brothers Racing announced DiBenedetto will return to drive the No. 21 Ford in 2021.
