ANALYSIS: Martin Truex Jr. tops the driver standings after the first half of 2023 with two victories just one season after missing out on the postseason. Christopher Bell and Denny Hamlin are well into the playoffs with a win each while Ty Gibbs continues to improve in his rookie season, sitting 18th in points with four top 10s.

ANALYSIS: William Byron has stood out as the top dog this year at Hendrick but there's been a lot of instability this season with driver injuries and suspensions. However, with every team member active heading into the second half of 2023, Hendrick can gain its momentum back and will need to do so as Alex Bowman and Chase Elliott are still winless.

ANALYSIS: Ryan Blaney won't need to worry about racing his way into the postseason at Daytona as he won the Coca-Cola 600 in dominant fashion and sits third in points. Joey Logano picked up a thrilling victory at Atlanta, but 2022 Daytona 500 winner Austin Cindric hasn't found the speed yet to contend for wins and sits 21st in points with just two top-10 results.

ANALYSIS: Trackhouse exploded with success in its sophomore season as both Ross Chastain and Daniel Suárez scored victories in the first half of last season. However, that hasn't been the case in 2023. Chastain is still a title contender this year sitting fourth in points, but Suárez is currently the first driver out of the playoffs in 17th.

ANALYSIS: Kyle Busch has been a perfect fit in the Chevrolet stable, collecting three wins so far in 2023. Busch is a title contender, but Austin Dillon has work to do as he sits 28th in points.

ANALYSIS: Brad Keselowski and Chris Buescher have more than doubled their top-10 results compared to this point last season. If there was a "Most Improved Team" so far this year, it'd be hard to argue against the Ford duo as both drivers sit well inside the top 16 in points.

ANALYSIS: No one-hit wonder this season, Stenhouse has had a mighty impressive campaign in the first half of 2023. Winning the Daytona 500 has gone a long way toward building momentum for the No. 47 team as Stenhouse has picked up top-10 results on a road course, a short track, a dirt track and a 1.5-mile oval.

ANALYSIS: Reddick has fit in quite well with 23XI, picking up a win at Circuit of The Americas in just his sixth start with the team. Meanwhile, Wallace has five top 10s so far compared to just one at this point last season. Both drivers are entering stretches to further prove the team, in just its third season, is becoming a formidable playoff contender.

Top-10 finishes after race 16 in 2023: Seven

ANALYSIS: Slowly but surely, FRM continues to rise in the Cup Series ranks with a good mix of talent with veteran Michael McDowell and two young stars in Todd Gilliland and Zane Smith.

McDowell sits just 14 points below the playoff elimination line and showed race-contending pace at Sonoma that should bolster his chances at upcoming courses such as Chicago, Indianapolis and Watkins Glen.

ANALYSIS: The four-car stable continues to be led by Harvick in his final season. He's the only driver on the team within the top 16 in points. Ryan Preece, Aric Almirola and Chase Briscoe will likely all need wins if they want to participate in the postseason. Briscoe was hit with a massive L3-level penalty that has him 31st in points.

Top-10 finishes after race 16 in 2022: Three

Top-10 finishes after race 16 in 2023: Five

ANALYSIS: In its first Cup season with two full-time drivers, Kaulig Racing has produced results that have both AJ Allmendinger and Justin Haley just outside the playoff picture.

Both drivers will be contenders for wins over the summer stretch with road-course ace Allmendinger having an edge at Chicago, Indy and Watkins Glen while superspeedway star Haley can still steal a postseason spot at Atlanta or Daytona.

ANALYSIS: Outside of a breakthrough sixth-place run in May at Darlington, the famed No. 21 Ford hasn't had the speed yet in 2023 to put together back-to-back top-10 performances. Burton's 23.8 average finish so far is also one position lower compared to last season.

ANALYSIS: LaJoie has strung together a quality first half of the 2023 season. His average finish is currently five spots better than a year prior at 19.3. With Atlanta on the horizon, look for LaJoie to once again be in contention for the victory. His teammate Ty Dillon joined the program this year and sits 32nd in points with an average finish of 28.5.

ANALYSIS: It's been a tough start for LMC. The team will move to Toyota next season in what will be the start of a rebuild for the organization.

Erik Jones scored a sixth-place finish at Talladega, which is the best finish for the team so far in 2023.
