@nascarcasm’s 2024 list: Naughty or nice?

Look, Santa Claus makes the final decision, but if he's looking for any assistance with his "Naughty or Nice" list, here's ours from the 2024 season.

2 of 13

Santa, if you're reading, Connor Zilisch has been a very good boy and is on the nice list! He wins in pretty much anything you put him in, he's incredibly polite and professional and he has the skills of someone twice his age ... so like, the skills of a 34-year-old. Anyways, nice.

From time immemorial to present day, Mother Nature has found a spot high, high atop our Naughty List. She postponed the Daytona 500. She single-handedly ruined Kyle Larson's attempt to run The Double. Mother Nature sucks and rain is stupid and I don't care if you're one of those dads who watches it soak the track and says, "My lawn needed it, though." DON’T CARE. We were this close to releasing a fake 2025 schedule so Mother Nature would show up at the wrong track every week. Anyways, she's naughty AF.

Race-used sheet metal is a premium souvenir in the world of motorsports. That's why it was so, so kind for Joey Gase to give this TV panel to Dawson Cram for free. An act of kindness during the season of giving.

We are upset that our dear Martin Truex Jr. announced his retirement from full-time racing midway through the season. That deprived us of a fun, season-long farewell tour where we could have given him lavish gifts al la Jeff Gordon or Dale Earnhardt Jr. You know how much Martin LOVES being in the spotlight, so we're surprised he waited. YOU COULD HAVE HAD PONIES, MARTIN. For depriving us of this, he is a naughty, naughty boy. Not that he cares. He's off fishing somewhere.

As in Kyle Larson. He's made the "Nice" list because as he was about to become part of the closest finish in NASCAR Cup Series history, he was considerate enough to say "Hey Chris Buescher, I'm going to make you part of history also." This was very thoughtful, and we're sure Chris appreciates it every time he watches a replay of it. He probably says, "Thanks Kyle," and not sarcastically whatsoever.

We have to place Ricky Stenhouse Jr. on the Naughty List for turning into Ricky Roundhouse Jr. during the All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro, sorry. He didn't win the $1 million. However, he did eclipse that number of views of this incident on YouTube by midnight.

Alex Bowman is well-liked. In fact, we hear 2024 NASCAR Cup Series champion Joey Logano has sent a Christmas card and several gifts to the Bowman household. For that reason, and we don't know the specifics why, but he's on the "Nice" list.

Layne Riggs' shoulder is most definitely on the Naughty List. Damn thing can't let Layne celebrate his first career Craftsman Truck Series win without deciding to pop like when you open a tube of dinner rolls. You have a socket -- stay there.

Tyler Reddick has been very, very good all year, Santa. He's so nice. He had a little kerfuffle with Chris Buescher at Darlington, but went and apologized immediately after. He did a 360-degree flip through the infield at Las Vegas but never complained. He won the Regular Season Championship while battling with a certain illness. We won't go into detail, but it's the kind where you'd be like, "OK no way that little norovirus-carrying ankle biter is gonna sit on my lap."

11 of 13

NAUGHTY NAUGHTY Christopher Bell. As you'll recall, Christopher let it slip that Chase Briscoe was joining Joe Gibbs Racing before the official announcement (even though we all knew it was happening). As we speak he's probably at the JGR Christmas party accidentally telling everyone who their Secret Santa is.

12 of 13

Kyle Busch was kind enough to lend his face to an incident that led to a donation by Ricky Stenhouse Jr. in the amount of $75,000 to the NASCAR Foundation. The generosity knows no bounds.

13 of 13

Sometimes tough decisions have to be made, but Dale Earnhardt Jr. is on the Naughty List. Why? He didn't share the flag. He didn't pass it around or let others experience the joy of waving it. Nope. He was all "MY FLAG." He may have even growled at people who tried to take it from him like a Rottweiler with a raw sirloin in its mouth. All we're saying is share.
