ABB, a global leader in electrification and automation, showcased the NASCAR EV protoype at various NASCAR events across the country during the 2025 season. Check out some of the places where the EV prototype was in action, along with the other ways ABB, the first Official Partner of NASCAR Impact, is helping the sport reduce its carbon footprint. In a historic first, ABB and NASCAR partnered to debut an electric pace car at the 2025 Daytona 500. The car shared many of the same characteristics as the Next Gen chassis teams used to compete in the "Great American Race."

NASCAR and ABB partnered with Chevrolet, Ford and Toyota to showcase the EV prototype at the 2025 Chicago Street Race. The 1,360-horsepower car made demonstration laps around the 2.2-mile, 12-turn circuit to help promote energy education and discussion among fans.

Veteran NASCAR driver David Ragan was primarily the one behind the wheel when the EV Prototype developed by NASCAR and ABB was on the track testing in 2025. Here, he's shown in the EV's cockpit at Sonoma Raceway.

At the 2025 Miami E-Prix at Homestead-Miami Speedway, ABB showcased the NASCAR EV prototype's technology alongside the Formula E Gen3 EVO race car. NASCAR's Rajah Caruth and Formula E's Jamie Chadwick performed a driver swap with each piloting the other's respective car.
