Established in 1969, Richard Childress Racing is located in Welcome, North Carolina. The organization employs more than 500 people, with 600,000 square feet of shop space.

Richard Childress Racing fields three full-time Sprint Cup Series rides: Austin Dillon in the No. 3 Chevrolet, Paul Menard in the No. 27 Chevrolet and Ryan Newman in the No. 31 Chevrolet. The team also runs three full-time XFINITY Series cars, as well as the No. 2 part-time ride.

The No. 3 RCR Chevrolet, made famous by Dale Earnhardt, returned to the track in 2014 when team owner Richard Childress' grandson Austin Dillon moved full-time into the Cup Series. Dillon wheeled the No. 3 to a Coors Light Pole in the Daytona 500 that season.
