NASCAR officials announced that the Cup and Xfinity Series will race in Mexico City in 2025. For Xfinity, it's a return to Mexico City, where it raced from 2005-08. For Cup, it's the first international venture for a points-paying race in the modern era. Scroll through the gallery to see photos from Tuesday's historic announcement.

"When we talk as a leadership team about where we feel like our biggest growth opportunities as a sport are, international is always one of the first things that comes up," Kennedy said in an interview with NASCAR.com.

In an earlier interview with NASCAR.com, Suárez said: "I've been racing in NASCAR already in the United States for 12 years, and since year number one, I've been dreaming about (racing Cup in Mexico), you know?"

The historic Cup Series race in Mexico City will take place June 15 airing live on Prime Video. The companion Xfinity Series event on June 14 will air live on The CW.
