William Byron finished 14th in the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series standings after making the playoffs for the second consecutive year.

Byron scored his first career win in the regular-season finale at Daytona International Speedway to secure his spot in the NASCAR Playoffs as the ninth seed. The victory came in his 98th start.

Byron posted a career-best 14 top-10 finishes in 2020 with four of them coming in the final six races of the season.

Chad Knaus, who was Byron's crew chief for the past two seasons, moved to vice president of competition at Hendrick Motorsports after the final race of 2020. Rudy Fugle will be atop the pit box for Byron in 2021.

Byron: "It was good to get a top 10 for Chad’s last race with us and as a crew chief. Great job to Chase (Elliott) and the No. 9 guys on the championship as well. They did a phenomenal job the last two races. I’m looking forward to the offseason and then getting after it in 2021."
