Snowball Derby 2025
The Snowball Derby in 2025 once again closes the Super Late Model racing season with a bang at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida.
There's a reason this race attracts not just the best Super Late Model drivers in the country, but also a handful of NASCAR national series stars. The 300-lap event, arguably the most prestigious short-track race on the planet, is notoriously difficult to win. The driver who manages to do so in 2025 will take home $50,000.
The 2025 Snowball Derby entry list, naturally, is stacked. Headlining the entries is two-time Cup Series champion (and two-time Snowball Derby winner) Kyle Busch, not to mention the slew of Super Late Model aces in the field.
The main event is now scheduled for Monday, Dec. 8 after it was postponed Sunday due to unfavorable weather conditions.

Wayne Niedecken kicked off the proud tradition of the Snowball Derby by winning the inaugural running at Five Flags Speedway in 1968.
Many have tried to conquer Five Flags’ most prestigious event over the following five decades, but only a handful have succeeded. Rich Bickle proved to be the most efficient competitor in Snowball Derby history with his five triumphs, all of which occurred during the 1990s.
The Snowball Derby has rewarded both youth and experience during its existence. Kyle Busch, Jody Ridley, Jeff Purvis, Butch Miller, Gary St. Amant and Derek Thorn are among the seasoned veterans who have won a Snowball Derby, while Chase Elliott made history as the youngest winner at 16 in 2011.
The event has also been won by a pair of female competitors. Tammy Jo Kirk became the first female Snowball Derby winner in 1994, and Johanna Long joined her in the exclusive club in 2010.
An even mix of veterans and young prospects are descending upon Five Flags this weekend with the goal of joining the prestigious group of competitors with a Snowball Derby triumph on their resumes.
