RICHMOND, Va. — Kyle Busch‘s seemingly flawless race Friday night at Richmond International Raceway didn’t go completely without a hitch.

FULL SERIES COVERAGE

NASCAR officials announced that the rear gear of Busch’s winning Joe Gibbs Racing No. 54 Toyota would be taken to the NASCAR Research & Development Center in Concord, North Carolina., for further evaluation. It was the only issue reported from post-race technical inspection after Friday night’s Virginia529 College Savings 250.

Busch was the Coors Light Pole Award winner and led all 250 laps of his fourth Nationwide Series victory of the year and his 67th win of his career on the tour.

The inspection findings do not necessarily indicate that a penalty is forthcoming, but any action on behalf of NASCAR would likely take place early next week before all three NASCAR national series converge on Chicagoland Speedway for its tripleheader weekend.

Kyle Busch Motorsports, a Busch-owned subsidiary of the Gibbs organization, has been penalized more than once this year for ride-height violations in the Camping World Truck Series.
