Sorenson will drive the No. 44 Chevrolet for the team. Golden Corral is on board to be the primary sponsor for Sorenson’s ride at Daytona.

Last season, Sorenson drove for Tommy Baldwin Racing in the No. 36 Chevrolet, making all 36 Sprint Cup Series starts of the 2014 season. The 29-year-old has five top-fives, 15 top-10s and one Coors Light Pole Award in 225 starts in the sport’s premier series.

“The Daytona 500 is always an exciting time of year. I am really looking forward to racing with Team Xtreme for the biggest race of the year,” Sorenson said in a release provided by the team. “We’ve got a great looking Golden Corral Chevrolet and I want to see us feed some kids on Monday with the ‘Top 10 Kids Eat Free’ promotion.”

Veteran crew chief Peter Sospenzo will be atop the pit box for the team.

“The 44 team has been hard at work over the offseason,” team owner John Cohen said in a team release. “We have made some big steps to further our efforts in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and it all begins at Daytona. Hiring Reed Sorenson to drive for us at the 500 was the right move for our team, he excels at restritor plate racing and we are excited to get to Daytona.”
