Matt DiBenedetto crossed the finish line 17th in the Gander RV 400 at Pocono Raceway Sunday.
Denny Hamlin brought home the win in the race, with Erik Jones finishing second, and Martin Truex Jr placing third. William Byron took fourth place, followed by Kyle Larson to round out the top five.
Stage 1 was won by Kyle Busch, while Jimmie Johnson finished out front in Stage 2. Each driver added 10 bonus points to their weekend ledger.
DiBenedetto earned 20 points over the weekend, increasing his total to 349 on the season. He ranks No. 24 in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series overall points standings. DiBenedetto did not pick up any playoff points Sunday and still is seeking his first playoff points of the season.
The fifth-year driver qualified in 10th position at 171.638 mph.
DiBenedetto still is looking for his first career win, but boasts two top-five finishes and seven finishes in the top 10.
There were 38 cars in the field and the race endured seven cautions and 24 caution laps. Prior to the checkered flag there were nine lead changes.
With Hamlin driving his Camry to victory for Joe Gibbs Racing, Toyota added 40 points. Overall, Toyota ranks No. 1 with 767 points, followed by Ford in the No. 2 spot with 744. Chevrolet sits at No. 3 with 708 points on the season.
