Dale Earnhardt put on a performance for the ages in the fall of 2000, driving through the field at Talladega Superspeedway over the waning laps to claim what would be his 76th and final victory in the NASCAR Cup Series.

This marked Earnhardt’s 10th trip to Victory Lane at Alabama’s 2.66-mile tri-oval. He was running 18th with 15 laps to go and managed to make his way all the way up to first come checked flag. Kenny Wallace was .119 seconds behind Earnhardt in second.
