Justin Allgaier finished fifth in the Alsco 300 at Kentucky Speedway on Friday.
Allgaier’s top five finish, the third time he has achieved that result this year, added 32 points to his season total.
Allgaier started in 20th position. The 11th-year driver has tallied 11 career victories, with 87 top-five finishes and 182 results inside the top 10.
In his career at Kentucky Speedway, Allgaier has compiled four top-five finishes and his fifth-place result marks the ninth top 10.
The Riverton, Illinois native began the race nine spots behind his career mark of 11.5, but finished eight places ahead of his career average of 13.
Allgaier’s fifth-place finish was against 36 other drivers. The race endured five cautions and 27 caution laps. There were eight lead changes.
Austin Cindric finished first in the race, and Chase Briscoe finished second. Justin Haley placed third, with Ross Chastain securing fourth place. Allgaier rounded out the top five.
After Noah Gragson won the first stage, Cindric seized control and won Stage 2 before earning the checkered flag.
