Tanner Gray finished ninth in the Buckle Up In Your Truck 225 at Kentucky Speedway on Saturday to secure his first career top-10 finish.
The top 10 finish for Gray, his second of the year, added 30 points to his season total. Gray started in 21st position.
The Mooresville, North Carolina native began the race three spots behind his career mark of 17.9, but finished seven places ahead of his career average of 16.1.
Gray’s ninth-place finish came against 40 other drivers. The race endured seven cautions and 25 caution laps. Prior to the checkered flag there were six lead changes.
Sheldon Creed took the checkered flag in the race, and Ben Rhodes took second. Matt Crafton placed third, Johnny Sauter secured fourth, and Austin Hill grabbed the No. 5 spot.
After Zane Smith won Stage 1, Creed seized control and won Stage 2 before taking the checkered flag.
