One of the busiest and most storied weeks in short-track competition arrives the week of Feb. 9-17 with the World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing at Florida’s New Smyrna Speedway, located just a short drive from Daytona International Speedway.
For an event that will play our over nine consecutive nights, many of the best drivers across the United States will descend upon the half-mile paved oval with the goal of joining names like Richie Evans, Dick Trickle, Ted Christopher, Ryan Preece, Sammy Smith and others as a World Series of Asphalt champion.
Headlining the grueling schedule is the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour season-opener on Saturday, Feb. 10, the second night of World Series action. The Modified Tour was added to the New Smyrna Speedway festivities a couple years ago, when four-time World Series Modified champion Matt Hirschman took home the checkered flag.
