Alex Bowman finished a career-best sixth in the NASCAR Cup Series standings after making the playoffs for the third consecutive season.

Along with his finish in the standings, Bowman posted personal season bests in top 10s (15) and laps led (440).

Bowman went to Victory Lane early in the season, winning on March 1 at Auto Club Speedway. He led a race-high 110 laps from the third starting position.

The first of four stage wins on the season for Bowman came at Auto Club. His next three were in May at Charlotte Motor Speedway with two in the Coca-Cola 600 and one in the Alsco Uniforms 500.

Bowman entered the NASCAR Playoffs as the eighth seed with nine playoff points.

Bowman made it to the Round of 8 for the first time after four top 10s in the first six races of the playoffs.

The season saw Bowman record two streaks of four consecutive top 10s with the last one ending at Martinsville Speedway in the playoffs with a sixth-place finish. He missed the cutoff to the Championship 4 by 28 points.

In 2021, Bowman will move to the No. 48 Chevrolet, replacing seven-time champion Jimmie Johnson, who retired from full-time racing at the conclusion of the season.
