After wrapping up its California road-course run through Naval Base Coronado and Sonoma Raceway, the NASCAR Cup Series will head to the Midwest and Chicagoland Speedway on Sunday (6 p.m. ET, TNT Sports, HBO Max, MRN Radio, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio).
The visit to the 1.5-mile venue will be the first since 2019 and will act as the second leg of the 2026 In-Season Challenge.
Fresh off his first-round upset of No. 1 seed Tyler Reddick, 2019 Chicagoland winner Alex Bowman will take on Austin Cindric in Round 2. That won’t be the only marquee matchup, though, as Hendrick Motorsports’ Kyle Larson and William Byron face off and Joe Gibbs Racing’s Ty Gibbs and Chase Briscoe go at it.
A week-plus removed from scoring his first career Cup Series win at Naval Base Coronado, Corey Heim returns to drive the No. 67 23XI Racing Toyota. Josh Bilicki and JJ Yeley also return to the fold this weekend to make up the 39 cars entered into this weekend’s race.
