RCR has fielded Nationwide Series teams on a full-time basis for Scott and Austin Dillon this year. Austin Dillon will make the move to the Sprint Cup tour next season.
 
"RCR’s Nationwide program is stronger, or just as strong, as its Truck Series program," Gaughan, 38, said Friday at Talladega Superspeedway. "Austin has been doing one hell of a job and I get to keep working with Ty.
 
"I love being at RCR. I said it a couple of years ago when I got here — I don’t want to drive for another race team and I want to win races. The only thing we haven’t done this year is win. We’ve led laps, we’ve been the fastest Chevrolet quite a few times. We just haven’t gotten the win. But we still have five shots at it; I plan on going out with at least a couple of wins this year."
 
An eight-time winner in the truck series, Gaughan is 10th in points heading into Saturday’s fred’s 250 here at Talladega. His highest finish of the season thus far has been a runner-up effort at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
 
Gaughan’s Nationwide car will carry the number 62, with sponsorship from South Point Hotel & Casino. Shane Wilson, Gaughan’s crew chief in the Truck Series, will head up the Nationwide team.
 
"We’re really looking forward to our Nationwide program running for the driver’s and owner’s championship," said Mike Dillon, competition director for RCR. "Keeping Brendan in the family, we’re happy with that. He’s been a good partner on and off the track."
 
According to Dillon, officials haven’t ruled out remaining in the Truck Series.
 
"We have intentions on running the Truck Series (in ’14)," he said. "We’re working on the truck programs right now (and) we met with sponsors last week."
 
Dillon also said a fourth car, carrying the number 33 and driven by the organization’s Cup drivers, would likely be on the track for select Nationwide events, if not full-time.
 
RCR also fields three Sprint Cup teams, with the current lineup of Jeff Burton, Kevin Harvick and Paul Menard.
